You can play a game blind, with a little help from your friends.

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Jorden Verner had a dream one day to beat the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There was one thing standing in his way of doing that, he was blind. So to help him, a Gamer named Roy and his online friends went out and worked for 2 years playing the game blindfolded. They copied down every keystroke, that EVERY Jump, Roll, Slash, and movement. They then played these Commands aloud and Jorden copied them.

Jorden beat the game in November 2009 and tells that anyone can do anything, Disability or No Disability.

Password Security is just getting out of hand.

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I went on to see some updates on the Combat Arms website and found that they are starting a new program called “Password Update Campaign”. This Campaign is aimed to have users update their passwords for all Nexon games every 3 months. I would be okey with it, however it is MANDATORY! You have to update your password every 3 months.

The fact that they don’t give you the option not to do this is just ridiculous. You ABSOLUTELY have to change your password every 3 months. I wouldn’t be surprised if there would be a lot more remember your password cause it changes every 3 months. It would be one thing if you could just OPT IN, but you can’t even do that.

What is your opinion on this? Post in the comments.

How much hackers annoy me in Video Games.

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Hey all. Lately, I have been getting more and more into Combat Arms. I have noticed that there is a lot of hackers but not enough to where it isn’t manageable. Now the OPK, One Person Kill (Standing and Shooting at a wall and killing everyone), Unlimited Grenades, and Unlimited Health isn’t what annoys me, its the fact that all of these hackers don’t know what they are doing.

First off, Installing the Hacking Software in the first place is bad news. Think of how many Trojans that these hack makers stuff into this software. Sadly, more and more people don’t load the hacking software, so the Hack Maker makes money off of it.

The other thing that really annoys me is that these people always say when I report them is, “Ah well, I have a non hacking account.”. That is really stupid. You don’t think that the Game Maker knows what IP registers with the username. If the Game Maker were to put your IP in a database, it would show up 2 accounts. HMM…Thats not good.

Anyway, sorry for ranting and taking it out on you guys. If you share my hatred for hackers, please post in the comments.

Fixing Animal Crossing: Wild World Boot Problems

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

I know that this is a really old game but I have a lot of people asking me how to fix the game where you would get to the Nintendo part of the start up and it would freeze. The problem is most likely got Brick Seeded, which makes your game freeze so that you have to buy a new one, or at least, that is what they want you to think. Here is how you fix it.

1. Take the Game out and go into the Nintendo DS Menu.
2. Change you clock ahead a couple years, months, and hours.
3. Restart your DS and start Animal Crossing: Wild World.
4. You should be able to get past the part where it would freeze.
5. I know this is going to suck, but erase your data. If you don’t, the Brick will just come back.
6. Shut Down and Restart your Nintendo DS and change all your clocks back.
7. You should now be able to play again. Congrats.

If this worked for you, feel free to post in the comments. If you followed all of the directions and still wasn’t able to get it fixed, sadly, you might need to buy a new game cartridge.

Combat Arms UI Change Angers Me

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Recently, Combat Arms (A Online FPS Game by Nexon), released a update dealing with certain issues, and adding a new UI (User Interface).

The User Interface is a good theme don’t get me wrong, but they changed everything so much that a person like me that plays the game almost everyday doesn’t know where anything is. The User Interface also looks a lot like that of Warrock (An Old Online FPS game that is the predecessor to Combat Arms) so much that it almost isn’t even funny. I would have liked the new User Interface more if they hadn’t changed everything around. I know this is more of a rant then a blog post but, I just want to get it out. Im sure that in a week or two, I will finally figure out how to do certain things in the game.

Thanks for reading.
Do you play Combat Arms? Tell us if you like or hate the new User Interface in the comments.

3 iPad Game Concepts that Might Actually Work

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I have been thinking ever since I saw the Keynote of the Apple iPad when the showed gaming on the device. I have thought of some cool gaming ideas that people that are good with coding apps that are reading this post, might want to consider.

1. A Hockey Game
You know how fun it is to waste money with your friend at a arcade all day to play some Air Hockey, well now all you would have to do is put your iPad down on a table. Saves money and could actually be a lot of fun. I can see myself playing a game of Air Hockey on an iPad.

2. Virtual Board Games
This happens to me all the time at my house. We finally get all of the pieces to play Monopoly and bam, no one suddenly wants to play anymore. Now you could just pop out your iPad and have it automatically set up your Monopoly game and start playing in less then 2 minutes. Another cool features would be if my friend had Monopoly on his iPad, we could play over online. This could also work with other games like Life, Scramble, Connect 4, and som others.

3. Simulation Games
How cool would it be to sit down on the couch and start playing a game of Sim City. Using multitouch you could simply just make a gesture with your hand to zoom in on your city to watch the occasional car crash. You could also play like the Sims 2 for example.

These are just my game concepts. Have some that you would like to share with others, just post it in the comments. Thanks for reading my blog. See you next time.
